Saturday, Nov. 6th, 11:a.m. Northampton to Unveils New Veterans Memorial
The Northampton Township Board of Supervisors has announced that there will be a dedication and ceremony for the unveiling of the Townships new Veterans Memorial located on the front lawn of the Northampton Township building located 55 Township Rd, Richboro, PA, 11:00AM on Saturday, November 6th.
Funding for the project was made entirely possible from a state grant at no cost to taxpayers.
As part of the Memorial, six additional flag poles have been placed surrounding the main central flag pole hoisting the American flag, three on each side. Each of the six additional flag poles will hoist a flag representing one of the six armed services (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine).
Northampton Township, through its Veterans Advisory Committee, is inviting all residents who have served in each of the military services, past and present, to actively participate in the flag raising of their respective military branches. They will gather near the flag pole and two members from each branch will hoist their respective service flags while the band plays their particular military theme song. This will be preceded by the raising of the American flag accompanied by the playing of the National Anthem followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Upon conclusion of the ceremony light food and refreshments will follow.
